Every two seconds, someone in America needs blood. This ongoing need is felt by our area's hospitals and patients. By donating blood, we can help save the lives of accident victims, patients with cancer and other diseases, as well as those undergoing surgery.

WALK MICHIGAN!
6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, 7/25 @ 8PM

Walk Michigan is a non-competitive program that began in 1985, created by Michigan Parks and Recreation Association (MRPA). The program was organized to provide Michiganians with opportunities to improve their health and fitness while encouraging them to enjoy the recreational facilities and park resources provided in their local communities. 120,000 individuals have benefited from the program over the last 10 years. Walk Michigan is non-competitive. Individuals are offered the opportunity to walk for the sheer enjoyment of it and to receive the health benefits derived from walking. Location of Walk Michigan will be at the Green Oak Village Place Mall.

The Grand Finale-The Labor Day Bridge Walk

The grand finale of the program is a trip for 2 to Mackinac Island on Labor Day weekend to walk the bridge with the Governor and several thousand walk enthusiasts. Each time a walker participates in a Walk Michigan event, a registration card is signed and a name is entered for a chance to win the trip to Mackinac Island at the beautiful Mission Point Resort. The winner will be drawn on August 3rd, 2009. The more you walk the better your chances are!

Dates are 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, 7/25. All walks begin at 8pm. Look for the SELCRA representative table to register.
